Summer daze.

 

So, I have been working on a new set of paperdolls for the fall/winter season. 

 

There are three, Elke, Tamsin and Vivenne, and their outfits are interchangeable. 

 Q and I both have had a great deal of fun cutting them out and dressing them up!

 Well, we have been out of commission for a few days with some late-season family illnesses that seemed to come all at once. But amid the craziness, heat waves and busy schedules we have all managed to have a pretty fun summer, including some lovely local slow-food meals, and the occasional foray into the highcountry to cool off after too many hot, dry days.

 Come hell and high water, come recession and strife, it's important to take these moments as a family, and remember how much we have to be grateful for.

Sometimes you just have to stop and blow bubbles, together. 

 It is my wonderful mother's birthday today, and also the day of her return from Iceland, where she goes to fly fish every year just about this time. 

Wishing my amazing mum a beautiful day and many happy returns. You are and have been my inspiration in life.

This photo is from the last time we were all together, NYC last spring. We are looking forward to seeing you here in Colorado in a few weeks' time!
